Free Chipper October 13 (Tuesday).
If you would like to participate in the free Chipper on, please send your name and address to Susan Abdo at susangabdo@gmail.com(opens in new tab) and she will get you on the chipper list. All chopper vegetation should be put curbside with the largest side of branches towards the street. No quantity limits. Nothing larger than 10 inches in diameter and longer lengths are better. Woody vegetation only (no leaves or weeds).
We need your Firewise hours in 2026 for our renewal
We are in the process of completing our annual Firewise renewal and need some information from you. Can you please send the info below to Susan Abdo at susangabdo@gmail.com ?
- Approximately how many hours of labor did you or a hired contractor complete in 2026 on Firewise activities (Firebreaks, tree cutting and trimming, removal of brush, etc. )?
- Approximately how many total cubic yards of plant material was removed from your property throughout 2026( a regular size pickup will fit approximately 3 cubic yards)?
- Did you participate in the City of Boise Chipper Program in 2025 or 2026?
- Have you had a Free Firewise Home Safety Evaluation completed?

Got Glass?
Did you know glass is recycled locally? And there are free options for recycling glass around Boise? Environmental Abrasives is a Boise based company that works with the city of Boise to process all the glass collected in the city.
Drop-off collection locations for glass bottles and jars (and other glass products) are available around the city.
The nearest free drop-off collection site are located at Albertsons Marketplace (16th and State Streets).
Additionally, the city of Boise offers curbside glass pickup for a fee if you need a more convenient option.
